Red Bull’s Battle of the Kings of Drift returns to Durban

ATTENTION all motorsport enthusiasts! Red Bull’s Car Park Drift returns to Durban on April 15 for the third year in a row when Suncoast hosts the best amateur and pro drifters from around the country to battle it out to be crowned the “King of Drift” in Mzansi.

Drifting is a thrilling motorsport that requires drivers to balance speed, style and fearlessness as they keep the car in a state of oversteer and daringly manoeuvre through turns. The sport has grown since its inception in the 1950s and has managed to create several professional drivers and crews since inception.

Red Bull Car Park Drift has tested over 80 drivers in the last two years with the challenging obstacle course created by Red Bull Athlete Rally and Hill Climb champion Abdo Feghali. Last year’s winner Jason Web showcased his finesse and controlled driving skills to represent Mzansi at the World Final held in Saudi Arabia.

On April 15 drifters from across the country will descend on Suncoast and go head to head displaying their drift skills and style. The top 16 drivers will compete for the title of the 2023 national winner who will represent South Africa at the World Final in Qatar later in the year.

To add to the excitement of the event fans will also have an opportunity to enjoy an aerial show by Red Bull athlete and five-time South African aerobics champion, Pat Davidson.

Head to www.redbullcarparkdrift. com for all the details and find out how you could win a VIP experience to the event, including a night’s accommodation at Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World.
