TRIBUTES have been posted on social media for Tremaine Joshua Hembert, a paramedic, who was killed in a car crash during the early hours of Monday.

Hembert, 25, from Trenance Park in Verulam, was employed at KZN VIP Medical Services.

Gareth Naidoo, the spokesperson for the company, said residents from the area heard Hembert’s car, a Nissan Almera, screech and then crash into a tree.

He said Hembert died at the scene but the passenger sustained minor injuries.

“After matriculating, Tremaine did a paramedics course and did his 1 000 hours of voluntary service with us. After he completed the service, he began working as a paramedic.

“Over the years. he continued to study and went on to finish courses that qualified him as an armed reaction officer. He was currently doing a course in body guarding and one in senior business management. We saw potential in him and encouraged him to study.”

Naidoo said the team found it difficult to come to terms with Hembert’s death.

“He was loved by everyone; his family, friends, co-workers and the people he helped. He was compassionate and kind and dedicated to his job. His death is a loss to our company.”

Naidoo said Hembert’s parents died when he was young.

“Despite the challenges life threw at him, he always pushed forward.”

Family and friends took to social media to pay tribute to Hembert.

Melanie Seguru: “Rest easy my son. Yesterday we were all together celebrating. Ouma and I can still hear you making jokes and giving off that beautiful smile that we will never see again. Little did I or any of us realise that it would be the last time we hear your voice or get one of your warm hugs. You have shattered our hearts. However, we will have to learn to live with this pain for ever. Go well, my son. We will always love you and carry your memory in our hearts.”

Rene Pre Raman: “Coming to work to hear that you had a bad accident in the early hours of this morning and you did not make it, my brother, left us all at KZN VIP heartbroken. After eight years of knowing you and studying together, you were the best human God had created. Rest well in your mom’s arms. Heaven gained an angel. You have done good for many people and saved many

souls. Now God will take care of you. Rest well, my brother. We love and miss you. Until we meet again, medic.”

Manival Murugen: “A great colleague. Always respectful and helpful. I’ll miss you Tremaine. Til we meet again.”

Gonum Rengasamy: “It’s so sad to hear of your passing away. Trenance Park has lost a true gem. A young man that was respectful and friendly. I will always remember you with a smiley face. Only the best die young.”

His funeral is expected to take place later this week.

Police did not comment by the time of publication.
