Another arrest in pensioner’s death

POLICE have arrested a second suspect linked to Rajanee Devi Reuben Murray’s killing.

Murray, 67, a pensioner, was found dead in the bedroom of her home in Foresthaven, Phoenix, on September 9. She was strangled.

A television, cellphone and other electronic items were stolen from the home.

On September 17, police arrested the first suspect, Menolan Naidoo. The 21-year-old was charged with murder and robbery.

He appeared in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on September 19 and was remanded in police custody.

The second suspect, Siviwe Magugu, 35, was arrested on Saturday. He faces the same charges as Naidoo. He appeared in court on Monday. The matter was adjourned and he was remanded in police custody.

Both men will appear in court

again in October for a bail application.
