Ode to a great sporting event

WITH the Hollywoodbets Durban July fever sweeping through the country, here’s my contribution to the fashion, finesse and flamboyance associated with this truly great sporting event which will be run on Saturday.

Linebacker helps Al Muthana secure Belgarion’s paintings! Astrix Magazine revealed details of the much anticipated auction of paintings owned by the Duke of Belgarion.

“It’s time to Do It Again, so Kommetdieding! (bags of cash),” he quipped.

From Aragosta to Zapatillas they flocked to the island of Puerto Manzano, the Duke’s Second Base in an attempt to secure a prized painting or two.

The bidding began in earnest and a Red Saxon secured Flying Carpet outbidding the Count of Nebraas in the process! Similarly, many other paintings found new owners.

The highlight of the evening was the auction of a trio of paintings centred on a common theme which were meant to be sold as a unit.

Al Muthana, who had the Sheik as a Linebacker, was able to display his Pomp And Power on the night. He hired Jet Dark and used Airway Law to ensure that his paintings, Hoedspruit, Sparkling Water and Waterberry Lane, had a Safe Passage to their new home!
