Municipal bills are late

THE electricity bills were previously posted to us in Phoenix before the 7th of every month.

The bills are now arriving a month late, after we paid the last utility account.

Due to this, we have to go to the rent office for a printout of the account. This results in stress and it is an inconvenience.

We have to fill petrol in our cars or pay taxi fares to get our statements so that our electricity will not be cut off if we don’t pay before the 7th of each month.

Residents have complained to the councillor but we were told it was not the council’s fault. If not the council, then who should be blamed?

I am fed up with this situation. We pay rates and taxes and we expect service delivery. If the problem persists, then I have no other option but to write a letter to the mayor.
