Co-operate with teachers

I ATTENDED Stanger Manor Secondary School in KwaDukuza. My mother is a deputy principal at Glenhills Secondary and my dad was an educator before he was medically boarded due to muscular dystrophy.

I have obtained distinctions in all the subjects I studied (English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life sciences, physical sciences, accounting and life orientation).

I was placed first in the Ilembe District and have been accepted to study actuarial sciences at UCT, Wits University, University of Pretoria as well as Stellenbosch University.

I am considering accepting Stellenbosch University as they have also offered me a complete academic bursary.

Studying under Covid-19 conditions was challenging, but I am ecstatic that my perseverance and hard work has paid dividends.

My advice to the Class of 2022 is to work hard from the outset. Consistency is a key component to achieve success. Also, pay attention in class and co-operate with your educators.

Take advantage of every opportunity provided to enhance your learning by attending intervention programmes and using resources made available on all social media platforms.

Never surrender, always do your best to maintain a positive mindset and always believe that you can succeed.

I feel truly blessed and I am grateful to many individuals who have had a positive impact on my life and have contributed to my success this year.

Firstly, I am eternally grateful to my parents for their unconditional love and unstinting support.

I am also indebted to my educators, tutors and mentors for their support and guidance.

All the best to the class of 2022. I am certain that anyone can achieve success through hard work, perseverance and prayer. DARSHAN BRAMDEV
