Accused remanded, case adjourned

THE bail application for Ali Mohamed, who is accused of crashing his car into Sunil Parekh and Anil Singh while they were jogging in Tongaat, has been postponed.
Both men were killed on October 9. While fleeing the scene Mohamed, 29, allegedly crashed his car into a minibus taxi.
None of the passengers in the taxi were injured.
He was arrested and charged with culpable homicide and contravening the Immigration Act.
The case was adjourned to October 25.
Mohamed was remanded to Westville Prison.
Parekh and Singh, both 59, were members of the Tongaat Panthers Athletic Club.
