FORMER Golden Arrows midfielder Seth Parusnath has found himself a new home in the DStv Premiership with top-flight newcomers Sekhukhune United.

“I’m excited and it’s a new challenge for me. I’ve been a Durban boy all my life and I’m looking forward to being here and helping the team as much as possible,” said Parusnath after being unveiled by the Joburg-based club.

The 27-year-old is an experienced campaigner in the South African top-flight soccer league.

He was introduced to the Arrows first team in the 2013/14 season before leaving the Durban-based club at the end of the last season.

“It was painful leaving Arrows having grown up at the club. I spent eight years with the first team and learnt a lot from everyone at the club so I don’t think I could have prepared for the moment,” he said.

The former St Benedicts school le arner will be hoping to help his new club avoid relegation in their first season in the top flight.

He has so far been

impressed with his teammates and new club.

“It’s exciting to be here and the group of players are experienced.

“It was warming and welcoming to be here. There are a few familiar players that I’ve played with before so it

was nice to see them and the new faces.

“The fans can expect me to give everything on the field. I’m hard-working and will give a lot of energy.

“I hope that they enjoy what they see from me,” said Parusnath.

Parusnath earned rave reviews for his performances wearing the Golden Arrows shirt last season, making 24 starts and helping the Durban club earn a record-high fourth-place finish in the league.

He had also been linked with a potential move to SuperSport United.

“There was talk about me joining SuperSport and I did go and train with the team for two weeks but talks broke down and (it) did not materialise.

“With Sekhukhune it was easy for me to say yes, with the quality signings that the club had made and that shows the seriousness of the club. There are a lot of international players in the club so me learning and taking a challenge excited me a lot,” said Parusnath.

Parusnath has comfortably settled into life in Joburg and was hoping for a successful season.

“I want to continue from last season and give good performances. A bonus this season would be to get a national team call-up.

“That all starts on the training grounds so I’m really excited to get going and helping the team as much as I can,” he said.
