Zuma making mockery of parole system
T MARKANDAN Kloof
THE moment Jacob Zuma reportedly refused to be examined by independent doctors appointed by the National Prosecuting Authority, you could have reasonably guessed that Correctional Services was up to its trickery again.
His business friend, Shabir Shaik, did it. Why can’t he, a former president, do it and get preferential treatment?
Just two months into his incarceration for contempt of court, and Zuma is back home.
While his supporters are celebrating, the opposition is fuming. It has slammed Zuma’s medical parole as disgusting and says that the Department
of Correctional Services is making a mockery of the parole system. But he’s out. I wouldn’t be at all surprised upon his return home that he does the Umshini Wami song and dance.
