Determined to succeed

SUNITA SEWDUTH Verulam

MY MOTHER, Daya Devi Sewduth, was one of nine children born into the Parshad family in Asherville, Durban.

After her marriage and the birth of her three children, she and my dad relocated to Verulam.

Having had limited resources to further her education, she found her niche in the field of teaching.

My mother enjoyed her teaching career until she was medically boarded.

This did not stop her from dedicating more time to her family and their needs. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Cooking and gardening were among her favourite pastimes.

My fondest memories are of my mom preparing yummy meals and treats, which she was happy to share with anyone who visited us.

Her strength and determination to succeed in life was overwhelming.

We will continue to celebrate her life and live in honour of her teachings.

This year marks four years and eight months since she graduated to heaven. She taught us everything, except how to live without her.
