The life and soul of our home

RENOSHA RAMDUTT RAMPHAL uMhlanga

MY MOTHER, Kumandevi Ramdutt, was the wife of Nundraj Ramdutt, the owner of True Art Printing. She was born on January 1, 1952, and was from Reservoir Hills.

My mother possessed a kind spirit and humble soul. She was a gift from God. She was beautiful and graceful, and she had a loving smile and a kind heart. My mother had six children.

On March 12, 2020, she was admitted to hospital for water in her lungs. She was only given six months to live.

It was a devastating moment for my family.

My mom was the life and soul of our home. She was also devastated upon hearing the news. She lost all hope.

On July 4, she was called to rest. I will never forget the morning she died. We spoke an hour before her death. We joked and laughed.

She still looked the same to me in death – only younger and more radiant.

My dad is saddened by her death. They were married for 49 years, and they travelled to more than 50 destinations. Next year, my mom would have turned 70, and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

My mom loved her grandchildren and children. Her food was the talk of the town.

Losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. But her goodness, her caring, and her wisdom live on – like a legacy of love that will always be with you.

May that love surround us now and bring us peace.

In life, we loved you dearly. In death, we love you still. In our hearts, you hold a place no one else will ever fill.

Mom, I know you are listening from above.

No matter where I am or what I’m doing, your memories will always keep me smiling.

I am thankful to my dad for all he did for my mom and stayed with her until the very end.
