My mentor and role model

SOOKRAJ MOTILALL REAGAN MOTILALL Phoenix

MY FATHER, Sookraj Motilall, was a humble, respectable and honest man, who lived in Phoenix.

He lived a simple yet busy life running his own business.

My father worked away from home most of the time. He worked in remote and risky areas. This was not a concern for him because he was friendly and sociable. He was never a selfish nor jealous person. He provided for our every request. There was nothing he would not do for his family. He took us on numerous holidays and spoilt us with everything we desired. He always motivated us to progress in life.

He had a tough upbringing, working from a young age to provide for his brothers and sisters – 18 in total.

My father helped many families and charities during his life and he never accepted any credit for it.

People remind us even today of how he assisted them in their time of need. It is an honour to hear these stories. Sadly, in 2003 at the age of 52, he passed away in a motor vehicle accident together with two business friends. I will never forget that day and the sadness it brought us.

He was my mentor and role model. I miss him and hope that he is resting his tired body. He meant the world to me and will forever remain in my heart.

I love you, Dad.
