Dad is alive in my heart

PRELEEN NAIDU Gauteng

MY DAD, Kassiepersadh “Roy” Sukdaveu, of Isipingo, was killed on December 11, 1998. He was and still is the most important person in my life. To me, he is the best man in the world.

I feel grateful to have had as much time with my father as I did. However, at the same time I hate those who robbed us of our time with him. I cherish every memory I have with him and I know he will forever be smiling down on us.

The pain of losing someone so incredible will most probably never leave me, and although people say time heals, it doesn’t fill the void he left. He was a good-spirited person. Although he did not matriculate, he was a person of great wisdom and knowledge. He was one who never cared about worldly possessions, but genuinely cared about the person he knew you to be.

My father was a man of trade, which came to him naturally. He was by far the best panelbeater and spray painter in the South Coast region. His ability to work on any vehicle, no matter its make or size, made him the most notable person in the industry in the South Coast. He left a positive impact on all people, through his work and his personality.

Although not successful in wealth, my dad walked the path of success. He was the epitome of success due to his kindness, laughter, love and loyalty to people.

I remember my dad every day and I miss him more each day. He will always be alive in my heart and mind. His memory will forever carry on. Love you dad.
