Hum Aapke Hain Koun

HUM Aapke Hain Koun (Who am I to you?) is a Hindi-language romantic drama. It was written and directed by Sooraj Barjatya.

The film stars Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan and celebrates Indian wedding traditions. It is an adaptation of

Nadiya Ke Paar (1982), a film based on Keshav Prasad Mishra’s novel, Kohbar Ki Shart.

According to Wikipedia.org, the film earned $1.27 billion worldwide and became the highest-grossing Indian movie of the 1990s. It is one of the highest-earning Bollywood films ever.

Hum Aapke Hain Koun won five Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award.

Dixit is also a film producer, television personality and music artist and has appeared in more than 70 Bollywood films. According to Wikipedia.org, she was one India’s highest-paid actresses in the 1990s and early 2000s and featured seven times on Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list.

Dixit made her acting debut in 1984 in the drama Abodh. She has six Filmfare Awards and four Screen Awards to her name. In 2008, the government of India awarded her with a Padma Shri, its fourth highest civilian honour.

Dixit has worked with Unicef since 2014 to advocate the rights of children.

She participates in concert tours and stage shows, features frequently as a judge for dance reality shows and has launched an online dance academy.

Khan is a film producer, singer, painter and television personality. In a film career spanning over 30 years, he has received many awards, including two National Film Awards as a producer and two Filmfare Awards for acting.

According to the Forbes 2018 list of Top-Paid 100 Celebrity Entertainers in world, at 82nd place, Khan was the highest-ranked Indian with earnings of $37.7 million.

According to Wikipedia.org, he promotes humanitarian causes through his charity, the Being Human Foundation.

The eldest son of screenwriter Salim Khan, he is one of the three major Khans of Bollywood who ruled the Hindi box office in the 1990s, the other two being Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

His off-screen life, however, has been marred by controversy and legal troubles.
