2.0 IS A science fiction action film and a sequel to Enthiran, featuring Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Vaseegaran and Chitti as the Robot, with Akshay Kumar as Pakshi Rajan and Amy Jackson as Nila.

The film follows the conflict between Chitti, the once dismantled humanoid robot, and Pakshi Rajan, a former ornithologist.

2.0 is the most expensive Indian film to date. Production began in 2015 and it was completed in 2017. The film is the first in Indian cinema to be shot in 3D. It was primarily shot in Tamil, while Kumar’s dialogues were shot in Hindi.

Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, known as Rajinikanth, is an actor who works primarily in Tamil cinema. He has also worked as a producer and screenwriter.

The government of India has honoured Rajinikanth with the Padma Bhushan (2000) and the Padma Vibhushan (2016).

He was conferred with the “Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year”.

At the 50th International Film Festival of India (2019), he was honoured with the Icon of Global Jubilee award. In 2015, a film about his fandom, For the Love of a Man, premiered at the 71st Venice International Film Festival. On December 31, 2017, he announced his entry into politics.
