Chandramukhi

CHANDRAMUKHI (Moon-faced beauty) is a comedy starring Rajinikanth, Prabhu, Jyothika, Vadivelu and Nayanthara, among others.

It is a remake of Apthamitra, which itself is a remake of the Malayalam film

Manichitrathazhu.

Chandramukhi’s plot revolves around a woman who suffers from dissociative identity disorder that affects a family, and a psychiatrist who intends to solve the case, while risking his life.

According to Wikipedia.org, the film was released on April 14, 2005. It became a box office success. The movie won five Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, four Film Fans’ Association Awards and two Filmfare Awards. Jyothika and Vadivelu were each awarded a Kalaimamani Award for their work.

Chandramukhi was dubbed into Telegu, Bhojpuri, Hindi and Turkish. It became the first Tamil film to be dubbed into German. A stand-alone sequel titled

Nagavalli was made in Telegu.

Prabhu is a businessman and film producer who predominantly appears in Tamil cinema. He is the son of veteran actor Sivaji Ganesan, while his son Vikram Prabhu is also a Tamil actor.

After making his debut in Sangili,

he played leading and supporting roles, earning the best actor award by the Tamil Nadu state for his portrayal in Chinna Thambi. He has worked in more than 200 films in Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.

Prabhu married Punitha in 1982 and has two children Aishwarya Prabhu (born 1984) and Vikram Prabhu (born 1986), who made his acting debut in the 2012 film Kumki.

While still married to Punitha, Prabhu had a relationship with actress Kushboo for four-and-a-half years and the couple got married on September 12, 1993. The pair split four months later.

Nayanthara is an Indian actress, who predominantly works in Tamil, Telegu and Malayalam cinema.

According to Wikipedia.org, she was the only South Indian female actor to feature on Forbes India Celebrity 100 list of 2018. She has acted in more than 75 films. Nayanthara made her acting debut in the 2003 Malayalam film Manassinakkare.

She made her debut in Tamil cinema with Lakshmi. She won the Filmfare Award for best Tamil actress for Raja Rani (2013), Naanum Rowdy Dhaan (2015) and Aramm (2017). In 2017, she was awarded the Filmfare Award for best Malayalam actress for Puthiya Niyamam.
